Musicians Union call for Musicians' Passport for touring Europe

At our January all members’ meeting the following motion was unanimously passed:

Westmorland and Lonsdale CLP request the NEC to support the Musicians’ Union in calling on the Government and Parliament to back a Musicians’ Passport for musicians working in the European Union post-Brexit.

The Musicians’ Passport must:

  • Last a minimum of two years
  • Be free or cheap
  • Cover all EU member states
  • Get rid of the need for carnets and other permits
  • Cover road crew, technicians and other staff necessary for musicians to do their job

Most musicians and performers rely on touring and performing in the European Union to make a living.

For more information about the MU campaign please see their webpage here and sign the MU petition; you can also write to your MP, and write to the PM, in support of the Musicians’ case.
