At our All Members’ Meeting on July 30, 2025, the Westmorland and Lonsdale CLP adopted the following resolution:
Motion on the banning of Palestine Action as a ‘terrorist group’
This CLP deplores the banning of Palestine Action as ‘a terrorist group’. It believes the sanctions under criminal law are sufficient punishment for any actions by any of their members.
It believes this was a knee-jerk reaction that is likely to have a chilling effect on legitimate protest. It sets a dangerous anti-democratic precedent.
It calls on the Government to remove the ban on Palestine Action immediately.
This resolution to be sent to the Home Secretary, Prime Minister, LP NEC and the Palestine Solidarity Campaign.
